Chris Brown & New ERA Cap have teamed up together to design a line of branded caps that will go on sale Aug. 14 at hat retailer Lids, New Era stores and newera.com. The singer’s line features six designs, including one evoking the 1980s with an image of a boom box and another featuring the initials “CBE,” for Chris Brown Entertainment, Brown’s record label on Interscope.
Chris Brown’s hat deal is actually quite different from the usual. Chris won’t be paid on a flat-fee basis, New Era has negotiated with him to pay him a royalty based on the number of hats sold, according to Billboard.com. Brown designed 10 caps altogether, and retains ownership rights to the four that were not used. The caps will retail for $35 to $40.
