Will Smith is looking to feed the demand of entertainment out to the Middle East. Will Smith has teamed up with his Overbrook partners James Lassiter, Ken Stovitz, and Diana Jenkins to launch Red Pearl Pictures, a company which will distribute Western films throughout the Middle East.

Red Peal Pictures will be located in both Los Angeles and the Middle East and is currently looking for a chief executive to run the company. The objective is to feed the growing demand for entertainment in such Middle Eastern markets as Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

Overbrook Entertainment has already looked outside of the box as the company made a deal with the chief of India’s UTV, and Sony to produce films meant to play in the Indian marketplace.

Red Pearl Pictures adds on to the existing list of Mideastern distributors that already have deals with U.S. movie studios and independent companies. This definitely seems like a growing trend for many movie studios. Let’s just see what movie studios will actually shed out money during this recession.
