Gucci has a history of creating elegant watches and this is no exception. Gucci introduces a revamped U-PLAY watch which now allows you to completely mix and match using a new set of interchangeable bezels and bands. Louis Vuitton is set to enter the fragrance industry. According to reports, perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud has been tapped as the head for the fragrance and will begin working on it starting in January 2012. WWD has the scoop on what we can expect from the scent. “Vuitton has recently been investigating rare, almost-extinct flowers in France that could be used as elements of its fragrance venture.”

Cavalier-Belletrud is known for being the man behind popular scenes such as L’Eau d’Issey, Jean Paul Gaultier Classic, Dior Addict, Poeme by Lancôme, Stella by Stella McCartney and Cinema by Yves Saint Laurent, and many more.

Mercedes-Benz in partnership with INCC Group will soon be releasing its own fragrance for men. Announced today at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, the fragrance has been composed by Oliver Cresp and is expected to be available at special retailers as early as the first quarter of 2012 as an eau de toilette, after shave, deodorant and shower and body gel.

Here’s the description of the fragrance.

Innovative and unique, it is the first men’s fragrance from Mercedes-Benz and it combines woody notes with floral freshness. The cool top note features Calabrian bergamot, lemon essence and Italian mandarin. The middle note is a warm, spicy mix of bourbon pepper, nutmeg, violet and galbanum resin. The base note provides a spicy finish to the perfume and includes American cedar wood, vetyver grass and patchouli. The bottle design is masculine, modern and elegant. This distinctive perfume fits in with Mercedes-Benz’s systematic expansion of its range of high-end accessories, which includes watches and eye wear.

Unfortunately D&G has come to an end. Dolce & Gabbana have announced today that it will cease it’s D&G line ending with today’s RTW Spring 2012 fashion show. In a statement, the designers said the move would give “even more strength and energy to our collections.” Luckily, this won’t be the last time we will be seeing D&G. According to Women’s Wear Daily, the brand plans on incorporating the D&G line into its signature line.

Back in April, Shoe designer Christian Louboutin filed suit against Yves Saint Laurent in Manhattan federal court for using his trademarked red soles. Louboutin was reportedly seeking more than $1 million in damages from YSL.

On Wednesday, Judge Victor Marrero denied Christian Louboutin a preliminary injunction stating, “Because in the fashion industry color serves ornamental and aesthetic functions vital to robust competition, the court finds that Louboutin is unlikely to be able to prove that its red outsole brand is entitled to trademark protection, even if it has gained enough public recognition in the market to have acquired secondary meaning.”

Yves Saint Laurent’s attorney David Bernstein announced that the company will press counterclaims against Louboutin and would ask the court for a summary judgement, which could result in Louboutin’s trademark being terminated.

Louis Vuitton gives us an inside look into their innovative store architecture in a forthcoming book called Louis Vuitton: Architecture and Interiors. According to Elle UK, “Expect a tome filled with 304 pages of illustrations, architect’s sketches and interviews with store designer Peter Marino and architect Jun Aoki.” The book is set for release on October 4th and is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.
