Gulfstream recently set a new speed record for the Gulfstream G450 business jet for flying from Tokyo to Hong Kong. The aircraft took off at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport at 10:50 am. local time on June 7, 2010. It flew 1,694 nautical miles at an average cruise speed of Mach 0.85, landing 3 hours and 58 minutes later at 1:48 p.m. local time at Hong Kong International Airport.

The National Aeronautic Association (NAA) confirmed the flight as a U.S. record and forwarded the figures to the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) in Switzerland for approval as a world record.

Swiss creates a new level of comfort and luxury with their new first class cabins. Swiss had called on Priestman Goode to take charge of the redesign. The first class cabins have been totally revamped to accompany a full sized adult. Every cubicle features a full bed, built-in 23-inch flat screen and a partition wall to ensure maximum passenger privacy. Other amenities include a bespoke seat design, a bespoke controller to adjust the seat, privacy screens and lighting and the graphical user interface. Swiss plans to begin offering the new first class cabins in April.

Finally a Jet at a reasonable price! The Eclipse 400 is a small four-seat airplane. It features a very nice interior, runs at quick speeds, and best of all, it isn’t a gas guzzler.

The plane was designed by Eclipse Aviation as a business/sport plane. The Eclipse 400 has single engine with cruising speeds of 580km /h and consumes less than 1 pound of fuel for every 1.7 km flown. The interior features controls similar to the Millennium Falcon, and seats from a Bugatti Veyron.

The plane is currently being sold for a cheap $1.35 million but so far they’ve only built one. Eclipse Aviation says you’ll have to wait till the end of 2011 when more models will be manufactured.

According to Page Six, Knicks player Stephon Marbury bought himself a private jet worth $45 million after receiving the remaining $21 million from his contract.

Tycooning 101 wrote a very interesting piece on the Hawker 4000. At $21 million price tag, it’s very reasonable considering the fine quality of the interior and it’s packed with all the features as a large-size jet all at a mid-size jet price.

Private Aviation Corporation Talon Air has added a new $4 Million Sikorsky helicopter to their current lineup. The helicopter provides premium comfort and privacy for up to six passengers and two pilots in a “jet-like environment”. The interior features plush first-class leather seats, amazing wood paneling surround the aircraft, and a 4.5-foot tall cabin with more headroom than a typical helicopter.

CEO Of Talon Air, Adam Katz, plans to take his company to the next level branching out in private yacht services. Adam is currently building a 135-foot, 6-bedroom, and 5-bath, Serque yacht.

Last week, the Emirates A380 made it’s first flight do Dubai. The Emirates A380 really makes for a nice plan that’s if your relaxing in the first class.

The Emirates’ first A380 has 489 seats: 14 in first class suites, 76 in business and 399 in economy. The first class passengers on Emirates A380 will be the only ones with access to the shower. Emirates is now offering commercial service for trips to Dubai and that will operate between New York and Dubai.
