Saudi Arabia Building A $800 Million Clock

by Adancia on August 11, 2010

Saudi Arabia will be building a clock that will rival the Big Ben in Greenwich. The monument will be 2,000 feet and will feature a four-faced clock and will run on Arabia Standard Time; three hours ahead of GMT. At its completion it will be one of the worlds tallest buildings. Each of the clock faces will have 98 million pieces of glass mosaics with an inscription ‘God is Greatest’ in Arabic. Designed by German and Swiss engineers the project is said to cost $800 million.
